There are days that we are all overwhelmed. The pressures of work, school, expectations, deadlines, social pressures, the list can go on and on....It is one of the reasons that I turned to flower farming after my kids went off to college. The ability to get out into nature, the excitement of learning something new, the possibilities of growing beautiful flowers and then sharing them with others. It is also the main reason that I started growing lavender. Throughout time, lavender has been the plant everyone associates with calm. One whiff of lavender and it helps you to stop and relax. Lavender is enjoyed in many ways including essential oil. Here at the farm we steam distill our lavender plants into essential oil and hydrosol (lavender water) which we use to make our products like body butter and pillow mist that help others to relax.
We love to diffuse lavender in our homes - the bathroom, the bedroom, and the living room. It's a nice way to come home from a long day and find our center. And that made us start to think about the times we are not home. There are many times throughout the day when the smell of lavender could be helpful, so we created a personal diffuser that you can take with you...in the car, in your gym bag, your purse, your office, or even your pocket so it's always with you. We've partnered with another woman-owned business out of the PNW to pair our lavender essential oil with an adorable felt flower for spring (other diffuser choices to come in the future). Simply put 3-4 drops of essential oil on the felt flower and take a slow, deep breath. The smell of lavender can be a natural way to relax, relieve headaches, and boost your mind. Take a moment today and smell the lavender!
